A Dialogue between Two Friends about Advantages and Disadvantages of Urban and Rural Life

Raitah     : Assalamu Alaikum, Humaira! How are you?
Humaira : Wa Alaikumussalam, Raitah! I’m fine, Alhamdulillah. And you?

Raitah     : I’m fine too, Alhamdulillah. Where do you live, Humaira?
Humaira   : I live in a village. What about you?

Raitah      : I live in the city. Do you like village life?
Humaira   : Yes, I love it. It’s quiet and peaceful.

Raitah     : That’s true. But the city is full of lights and life.
Humaira   : Yes, but the city is also noisy and crowded.

Raitah        : In the city, we have good schools and hospitals.
Humaira     : In villages, schools and hospitals are few.

Raitah      : What about transport in your village?
Humaira       : It’s not so good. Roads are narrow and broken.

Raitah          : In the city, we have buses, cars, and trains.
Humaira       : But traffic jams are a big problem in cities.

Raitah           : That’s right. Sometimes we wait for hours.
Humaira         : In villages, there’s no traffic jam.

Raitah           : What do people do in your village?
Humaira             : Most people are farmers. Life is simple.

Raitah            : In the city, people work in offices and shops.
Humaira      : Village life is healthy. Air and food are fresh.

Raitah         : Yes, in the city, pollution is a big problem.
Humaira    : Trees and rivers make villages beautiful.

Raitah           : But there are more job chances in cities.
Humaira       : That’s true. Many young people move to cities.

Raitah           : In the city, we have cinemas, malls, and parks.
Humaira          : In villages, we enjoy nature and open fields.

Raitah           : City life is fast. Everyone is busy.
Humaira       : Village life is slow but peaceful.

Raitah         : I think both lives have good and bad sides.
Humaira      : Yes, it depends on what a person likes.

Raitah         : I want to visit your village someday.
Humaira       : Sure! You will enjoy the green fields and calm air.

Raitah          : Thank you, Humaira. I will plan soon, In shaa Allah.
