Completing Story: Robert Bruce/ Failure is the Pillar of Success
Robert Bruce/ Failure is the Pillar of Success
There lived a king in Scotland. His name was Robert Bruce. He was a brave and wise ruler and loved by his people deeply. He fought many battles to free his country from British rule, but each time he was defeated. His enemies were strong, and his soldiers were tired. Still, he never stopped trying. Robert Bruce led his army six times, but he lost every battle. Feeling hopeless and tired, he hid in a lonely cave in the forest.
One day, while sitting quietly inside the cave, he said to himself, “Maybe I should give up. I have failed too many times.” He was sad and thinking about his bad luck.
Just then, he noticed a small spider in the corner of the cave. The spider was trying to climb to the ceiling using its silken thread to build a web. Robert Bruce watched it carefully. The spider tried once, but fell. It tried again, but fell again. “Oh no,” said Bruce, “it has failed too.”
The spider failed six times. Still, it did not stop. “What a brave little creature,” whispered Bruce. The spider made a seventh attempt, and this time, it reached the ceiling and completed its web.
Bruce smiled and said, “If this tiny spider can succeed after so many failures, why can’t I?” He stood up with a new courage and said, “I will try again!”
He forgot his sadness and felt a new hope in his heart. He thought, “I must not give up. My people need me. My country needs freedom.” So, he gathered his soldiers once again. This time, he spoke to them with strong words and brave plans. The soldiers were inspired by their king’s spirit. They fought bravely and gave their best. And finally, after all the struggles, Robert Bruce won the battle and brought freedom to his land.
Moral: Failures are the pillars of success.
