 A Journey by Train
A Journey You Have Recently Enjoyed

Introduction:

A journey by train is always fun. It makes us happy and gives us joy and pleasure. During the last winter holiday, I had a chance to go on a train journey with my family. We went from Dhaka to Rajshahi. I was very excited because it was my first long train journey. The thought of watching nature from the window made me even more thrilled. My little sister was also very happy. We packed our bags with clothes, snacks, and water. Everyone was in a good mood. We looked forward to the journey and meeting our uncle's family in Rajshahi.

Reason for the Journey:

My uncle lives in Rajshahi. He had invited us to attend his elder daughter’s wedding ceremony. So, after discussing it with the family, my father decided that we would go there by train. On 11 December 2015, we woke up early in the morning. Then, we got ready and went to the Kamlapur Railway Station by bus. My father bought four tickets for the Ekota Express.

Beginning of the Journey:

After that, we got on the train and sat down in our seats. At around 7.30 am, the train slowly started to move. Within a few minutes, it became faster. Since I sat by the window, I could see outside clearly. Some people were reading newspapers, and others were talking with each other. The ride was smooth and nice, and everyone looked cheerful.

Scenery Outside the Train:

The view outside the window was very beautiful. I saw green fields of paddy, sugarcane, and jute. Trees and houses seemed to run past us quickly. I also saw women carrying water pots, farmers working in the fields, and children shivering in the cold. I enjoyed every scene with great joy. Nature looked so fresh and lively from the moving train.

Inside the Train:

As it was an intercity train, it did not stop at many stations. So, it was not too crowded. A few hawkers walked around with eggs, chanachur, and betel leaf. Although we did not buy much, I liked watching how they sold things to passengers. The train moved very fast, and we did not feel bored at all.

Our Lunch on the Train:

After a few hours, it was time for lunch. My mother had packed rice, egg curry, and pickles for us. We all shared the meal together and enjoyed it. Some other passengers also opened their lunch boxes. We laughed, talked, and had a great time. Outside, the green lands and small villages continued to pass by quickly.

Resting Time:

Later, I felt a little sleepy. So, I leaned back and took a short nap. When I woke up, the sun was getting low in the sky. The soft orange light made the trees and fields look golden. Everything looked calm and peaceful. I took out my mobile phone and captured some lovely photos.

Arrival at Rajshahi:

As we got closer to Rajshahi, my heart filled with joy. I had not seen my uncle for a long time, so I was very excited. Soon, I could see tall buildings and the signs of the city. At exactly 5 pm, the train reached Rajshahi Railway Station. My uncle was waiting for us there. He smiled and hugged us warmly.

Conclusion:

Thus, the train journey came to an end. Though the journey was not too long, it gave me much joy and taught me many things. I saw many new places and enjoyed the time with my family. It was the best journey of my life. I will never forget it. The sweet memory will stay fresh in my mind forever.
