 Duties of a Student

Introduction:

Student life is the most important and valuable stage of a person’s life. It is the time when the foundation of future life is built. Therefore, a student’s main duty is to gain knowledge and build good character. Moreover, this period is not only meant for studies but also for learning discipline, honesty, responsibility, and good behavior. Thus, a student has many duties to fulfill in school, at home, and in society.

Duty to Study:

The first and foremost duty of a student is to study seriously. In this regard, a student must attend school regularly, listen to teachers carefully, complete homework on time, and prepare well for exams. Indeed, without proper education, no one can become a good citizen or succeed in life. Hence, students should make the best use of their time and avoid bad habits and laziness.

Duty to Parents and Teachers:

A student should always respect his/her parents and teachers. Because parents make great sacrifices for their children and teachers guide them in the path of knowledge, students must be respectful. Thus, showing respect, listening to advice, and being grateful are important duties. In fact, a polite and obedient student is loved by all.

Duty to Society and Nation:

A student is also a future citizen of the country. Therefore, they must learn to love their country and work for its welfare. For example, helping the poor, participating in social work, keeping the environment clean, and obeying laws are important duties. During times of natural disasters, students can help by raising awareness and collecting relief.

Duty to Friends:

Students should also behave well with their friends. They must be kind, helpful, and honest in friendship. In addition, helping friends in need, sharing books, and studying together are good habits. As a result, a good friend supports others and avoids fights or teasing. Instead of being rude or selfish, students should learn to cooperate. In this way, learning how to work in a team also starts from being a good friend. So, students should value friendship and be friendly to all.

Duty to Health:

Students must take care of their health. Because a healthy body and mind help in better learning, they should eat healthy food, drink clean water, and get enough sleep. Furthermore, playing games or doing exercise is also important. Otherwise, a sick student cannot study well or enjoy life. Simple habits like washing hands and brushing teeth every day are also important. Thus, students should stay clean and active to grow strong and smart.

Duty to Environment:

Students have a duty to protect nature. So, they should not throw garbage on the ground. Instead, they should plant trees and keep their school and home area clean. Moreover, they should save water and electricity. When students care for the earth, they learn how to be responsible. They can also tell others to protect the environment. Even though these may seem like small actions, they can have big results. Indeed, a clean and green world is good for all, and students can make it better.

Moral Duties:

Along with studies, students should develop moral values like honesty, kindness, discipline, and responsibility. Therefore, they should avoid bad company and always speak the truth. Consequently, a student with good character is respected in school and in society.
